CHAIRity 2001 is an annual month-long campaign to raise community awareness in support of domestic violence prevention.

Artists were sought to decorate BIG chairs for auction on October 25. The chairs will be on display in a downtown Phoenix public location from September 24 through October 24.

On October 25, the large chairs will be offered for purchase at a live auction event held at US Business Interiors. This event also includes a silent auction of smaller chair-themed art.

This event is to honor Domestic Violence Prevention Month and all proceeds will go to the City of Phoenix Family Advocacy Center, which will share funds with Valley crisis centers; Sojourner, Autumn House, Faith House, New Life Center, Chrysalis, DeColores, and My Sister's Place.

The person who purchased the chair at auction donated it to the City of Phoenix, who decided to install downtown at City Hall. Just east of City Hall there is a parkway by the Orpheum Theatre in the courtyard area. Southside where washington is, there is a fountain made of slate rock on the north side. The chair is now residing at City Hall. Just east of the Orpheum Theatre.
