Mishy and Cyndi's chair is sponsored by The Arizona Republic.

UPDATE: About half of the chairs were purchased by their sponsors and the remaining half were auctioned off. Mishy and Cyndi's chair was among those to be auctioned and went for $1200.00.

CHAIRity 2000 is a month long campaign to raise community awareness in support of domestic violence prevention.

CHAIRity 2000 is comprised of thirty-six 5 foot by 3 foot metal chairs constructed by Sunbelt Scenic and sponsored by Valley companies for $3000 each.

Each chair has been decorated by local artists who generously donated their time and talent.

The chairs will be "on parade" from September 25th to October 25th on Central Avenue from the Burton Barr Central library, north to the Park Central Mall .

On October 26th, the chairs will be transported to the Bank One Ballpark for a live auction and VIP event from 6-9pm.

All proceeds raised will be donated to the City of Phoenix Family Advocacy Center, which will share funds with Valley crisis centers; Sojourner, Autumn House, Faith House, New Life Center, Chrysalis, DeColores, and My Sister's Place.
